About Us

 

The Blackout Dance Team was created by Christin Johnson and David Minor in the fall of 2008. What started out as a few dancers training and competing locally has grown into a nationally ranked dance team that has won consecutive national titles and travels around the country performing.  The Blackout Dancers are a highly active team dancing for other student organizations and often competition in state, regional, and national competitions with jazz and lyrical pieces.  Aside from competing, the Blackout Dance Team offers dance training in an friendly atmosphere while promoting poise, agility, flexibility, and physical fitness. Ever since the existence of the team they have been successful in competition most recently being named two time  Division I Open Dance National Champions in 2011 and 2012 and winning Best Choreography.
